Testimonials

Dr Cameron Waggoner is very dedicated to his patients. It’s clear it’s not just a job for him. I felt he believed in my recovery even when I didn’t, and was determined to improve my mobility. He is very passionate about his craft and I don’t believe I would be walking today if it wasn’t for his focus and drive. His great sense of humor helped make the therapy sessions enjoyable. I can’t thank him enough for his time and patience and encouragement during the process. I highly recommend Dr Waggoner’s physical therapy services.

My son Tyler and I met Cameron December of 2015. Tyler had a brain tumor removed and went left side neglect, (meaning he didn’t even recognize he had a left side and was paralyzed on that side). We had been transferred from the Hospital to a stroke Hospital. Most all the patients were older, my son was 24. Cameron’s first session with Tyler was to see if he could sit on his own…..Tyler sat for 3 seconds. My son is on the spectrum of autism but Cameron recognized Tyler had a drive to succeed and return to normal. Tyler can appear that he isn’t paying attention or listening, Cameron seemed to know he working hard.  We had a breakthrough and Tyler and Cameron transferred to the bed from the wheelchair without the lift. I remember when we were sent back to the Hospital for a wound wash out and we were still using a lift to transfer my son from bed and wheelchair. Cameron was walking down the hallway after 5 PM. He took time to come to another Hospital to check up on basically strangers to make sure we were ok. ( We were in Memphis TN my son is a St Jude Children’s Hospital patient) so we didn’t know anyone and we were many miles from home. And Cameron came to see us. WOW. Just WOW. Cameron took the time to teach me how to transfer Tyler from bed to chair and back. That day Cameron gave us our freedom back. We didn’t have to wait for a nurse to help us. We were able to come and go as we pleased.

Some of the things I remember from this time was other therapists watching Cameron work with my son if they didn’t have a patient of their own.  I realize it’s not normal to see a 24 year old with a stroke, and they were all working with older people, but even the other therapists wanted to watch cameron work.

Cameron took my son from being paralyzed to functioning in real life. Things we don’t think about, stepping off a curb, or back onto a sidewalk. It was awesome to be able to get into bed or back into a wheel chair. But we also needed to get into a car, and out again, of course. He taught my son to walk again, as a mom I got to see my son take his  first steps twice. Thanks to Cameron for the second time.

I just got in from an evening stroll in Old Town. I would’ve never thought that was possible lying in my bed post-stroke in 2020. But then I met Cameron. He and his colleagues brought me back physically and mentally, teaching my family and me to have hope and believe I would walk again. He was right, and I will never forget what he did.
